The PAT Technology HSAT is a home-based sleep apnea test using Peripheral Arterial Tonometry (PAT) to monitor oxygen levels, heart rate, and autonomic responses. While convenient, its indirect approach may miss mild cases and central sleep apnea (CSA), leading to false positives/negatives. Studies show lower correlation with polysomnography (PSG), especially in patients with atrial fibrillation or mild obstructive sleep apnea. Alternative devices like Wesper, which use direct respiratory measurements, offer more reliable diagnoses for effective treatment planning.
